Abstract Ryan
Art. Worlds. made by hand.
My creative side has always pushed me to go my own way — and to find new paths other people can walk too. I paint to slow down. I build worlds to explore. The art isn't separate from the work; it's what drives it.

— World Building
Root Cause
A whole world from scratch
Every visual asset in this game was hand-built — campus buildings, terrain tiles, props, equipment sprites, and characters. Isometric pixel art drawn in Resprite, 2:1 diamond projection throughout. Alpha is live on itch.io.
Buildings — 10 types, 2 states each
Campus Buildings
Joe's House, Home Lab, Small DC, Edge Facility, Commercial DC, Hyperscale, and more — each with an upgrade visual state. Joe's House visually evolves when you build the lab shed extension.
Equipment Sprites — 5 tiers
Equipment Sprites
Server racks, switches, routers, HVAC, PDUs — each tier gets its own visual identity. HomeLab beige to Hyperscale gold. Custom icon set built with a LoRA trained on datacenter reference imagery.
Terrain + Props — 60+ pieces
Terrain + Props
Grass, gravel, pavement, water tiles — plus fences, trees, rocks, cable trays, signage, and ambient props. Consistent diamond-grid projection. Every tile hand-drawn to sit flush with the isometric grid.
Characters — player + NPCs
Characters
Player character and worker NPCs as 48x64 sprite sheets — 8-directional, 5 columns x 8 rows per sheet. Consistent isometric projection, modeled in Blender and rendered to pixel art.

Strata Coffee — Amarillo, TX
A selection of originals is on permanent rotation at Strata Coffee in Amarillo. If you're local, stop in — the paintings look a lot different in person than on a screen.
